Apple Thunderbolt Display: Monitor Docking Station -Apple has used the launch of its MacBook Air and Mac mini units Thunderbolt connector to unveil its new monitor: the Thunderbolt Apple Display. This 27-inch sets out the main features of its predecessor that is a brilliant IPS 27 inches with a definition of 2560 x 1440 pixels, viewing angles of 178 °, a brightness of 375 cd/m2, contrast 1000: 1, a response time of 12 ms, a camera and an integrated FaceTime HD 2.1 audio system with a power of about 50 Watts.

It stands at the connector. While the 27-inch Apple Cinema Display merely three USB 2.0 ports, the Apple Display Thunderbolt is transformed into a MacBook dock with three USB 2.0 ports, a Gigabit Ethernet port, one FireWire 800 port Thunderbolt and a connector. This allows you to connect a second screen to take advantage of two monitors to a computer via a single output. Monitor Apple still offers a MagSafe connector that allows you to recharge the MacBook and connects to the computer via a single port Thunderbolt which is responsible to pass information from the three USB 2.0 ports, FireWire 800 port and the Ethernet integrated on the screen.

Best of all for Europeans, the Thunderbolt Apple Display is sold 100 euros less than its predecessor with a price of 999 euros.
